Jun 30, 1997 — ma chérie Limited Event. Clone Eccentric Dance Party (C.E.D.P.) at Club Asia. Held as a birthday event for Mana and Közi. Under the strict but fun rule that all participants (staff included) must cosplay, roughly 300 cosplayers gathered in Shibuya. Reporter Noriko Tokairin joined in—the event was a huge success. MALICE MIZER's French Days. By now you've probably seen “Bel Air ~Kuuhaku no Shunkan no Naka de~ de l'image”—how was it? Premiere screenings brought many compliments; the members are delighted. We spent about two weeks in France for the shoot—and look, piles of photos! And they're funny (laughs). Too good not to share. 日比谷野音を終えて by Gackt。 現在Recordingの合間にこのレポートを書いています。正直なとこ五日目の徹夜に突入しました。 人って面白いものでここまで寝ないとちょっとしたことで笑いが止まらなくなるんですね。 昨目も押さないと開かない扉を必死になって引いてて、普段だとすぐ気が付いて押して開けるのに、 どうやっても引いて開かない扉の前で「開かないー」と、扉にしがみついてたあげくに疲れてその場に座っていると 「何、やってんの。」と、扉を開けて通り過ぎるスタッフを見て 「知恵は使うためにあるんだな、ウン」と、独り言を言っている自分に対してうけてました。 ・・・・・・どうでもいいことですね。ま、寝て無いということで勘弁してください。 えーっと、野音ですね、野音。まず、一番最初に言いたいのは「本当にありがとう」。 これはいろんな意味で待っててくれた人へ、見に来てくれた人達へ、応援してくれた人達へ、 かかわってくれた人達へ、色々心配してくれた人達へ伝えたいです。

After Hibiya Yaon — by Gackt. I'm writing this report during breaks in recording. Honestly, I've hit my fifth straight all-nighter. Sleep deprivation is funny—you laugh at the smallest things. Yesterday I desperately pulled a push door that wouldn't open; normally I'd notice and push, but I clung to it crying “It won't open—” until I collapsed, then watched a staff member walk through saying “What are you doing?” and laughed at myself muttering “Wisdom exists to be used, yep.” …Trivial, I know—forgive me for not sleeping. Hibiya Yaon—first and foremost, “Thank you so much.” To everyone who waited in every sense, who came, who cheered, who was involved, who worried—I want to say it.

二日目が終わった後、もう次のことを考えてる自分がいました。それはきっといろんなことを一つ一つ整理できたからだと思います。 夏のツアーからいろんなことが起きてしまって、自分なりに色々考えました。 そのことでたくさんの手紙をもらい、励まされたこともあります。本当にありがとう。 こうやって寝る時間の無い中で苦しいと思わずにRecordingができるのも手紙を送ってくれる人 （笑顔で写真やプリクラを一緒に貼ったりしてくれる人）がいたり、待ってる人達がいると実感できることも理由の一つです。 最近は忙しくてなかなか返事を出せないけれど、また時間をつくりたいと思います。 近いうちに「神威 楽斗の学校潜入日記」みたいなものをやろうかなと思っています。 自分の学校に来てほしいと思う人は、学校の詳細、写真、自己PRを添えて送ってください。お楽しみに。

After Hibiya Yaon — Gackt (part 2). After the second day I was already thinking ahead—probably because I'd sorted things one by one. Many things happened since the summer tour; I thought hard in my own way. I received many letters of encouragement—thank you truly. Being able to record without feeling the pain of no sleep is partly because people send letters (some paste photos and purikura with smiles) and because I feel people waiting for us. I'm too busy to reply lately but want to make time again. I'm thinking of doing something like “Kamui Gackt's School Infiltration Diary” soon. If you want me to visit your school, send details, photos, and a self-introduction. Look forward to it.

銀座 コージーコーナー。 サリュ！コマンサヴァ？今回はフランスでのオフ写真をちょこっとコメントとともにお見せしましょう。 （右ページの写真、左上から時計回りに） ＋サンメリ教会＋ 教会はたくさん見たけどステンドグラスの美しさとパイプオルガンの音色に心を洗濯されました。 ＋カタコンブ＋ ローマ時代の採石場の洞窟を利用して、無縁仏などで作られた納骨堂。 以前、雑誌で見てからすごく気になって行ってみたかった所の一つ。壁には何百体ものガイコツがびっしりで異様なんだけど、美しかったな。雰囲気がすごく良かった。まさにオレ好み。 ＋ポンピドゥーセンター前＋ オフショットの撮影の時。パリっ子達と。 ＋ゲンスブール家の外壁＋ YU~KIちゃんと行った。ファンからのメッセージや絵でびっしり。お墓も行ってきました。 ＋リュクサンブール公園＋ ひなたぼっこ中のおばあちゃんと。 ＋マクドナルドパリ支部＋ メニューが若干違ってた。なぜスマイルがないんだぁ～。 ＋ヴェルサイユ宮殿の天井画＋ その壮大で高貴な美しさに金縛り状態。 ＋俺の絵＋ テルトル広場にひしめいている似顔絵描きが描いた俺。けっこー笑った。 ＋ダリ美術館のチケット＋ 俺この人の作品大好きなんだけど、ここは音楽、照明、ディスプレイの仕方などすべてにおいて一風変わっていて、美術館全体がダリ独自の幻想的でシュールな世界に包まれてました。見に来た人達が感想やダリへのメッセージを書くノートに俺も一言書いてきたし、フランスに行く機会があったらぜひ足を運んでもらいたいですね。 ＋ヴェルサイユ宮殿の鏡の間＋ 窓から差し込む自然光が鏡やシャンデリアに反射して、もう声にならないほどの美しさ。とにかくここの宮殿どこ見てもすごすぎた。口あきっぱなし。 ＋ルーヴル美術館＋ 時間が無くて中に入れなかったのが非常に残念。ここもむちゃくちゃでかい。 ＋ジム・モリソンの墓＋ ファンに墓石を盗まれた跡が痛々しく残ってたけど、俺はやっとトカゲの王に逢えたよ。"Break on through to the other side" という感じでメトロ（地下鉄）も一人で乗ったし、いろんな所歩いたけど、人も建造物も自然もすべてが刺激的な国でした。今度は滞在半年位したいね。（絶対無理だろうなー）

This time I'll show off-shots from France with brief comments (photos on the right page, clockwise from top left). +St-Merry Church+ — Saw many churches; stained glass and pipe organ cleansed my soul. +Catacombs+ — Ossuary in Roman quarry caves lined with anonymous bones. I'd wanted to go since seeing it in a magazine. Hundreds of skulls packed into the walls—eerie yet beautiful. Great atmosphere. Totally my taste. +Centre Pompidou+ — Off-shot shoot with Parisian kids. +Gainsbourg house wall+ — Went with Yu~ki; covered in fan messages and art. Visited his grave too. +Luxembourg Gardens+ — With a sunbathing grandmother. +McDonald's Paris+ — Menu slightly different. Laughed a lot. +Dalí Museum ticket+ — I love his work; music, lighting, display—all uniquely surreal. Every corner of the palace was incredible; mouth agape. +Louvre+ — No time to enter—very regrettable. Enormous. +Jim Morrison's grave+ — Painful scars where fans stole the headstone, but I finally met the Lizard King. “Break on through to the other side.” Rode the Metro alone, walked everywhere—people, buildings, nature all stimulating. Next time I'd like to stay half a year. (Probably impossible—)

Kamiの独り言。 〜空白の瞬間〜 半年前くらいに10代半ばの女の子が亡くなりました。彼女はRevivalからずっと応援してくれていて、 手紙もたくさん書いてくれて、Liveにも何度も来てくれていて、顔も覚えていました。 去年の10月くらいから体調を崩して、サイン会の時に「あの子病気なのに来てる」などと ひどいことを言う人もいて…。会いに行こうと思っていたのですが、Major契約後とても忙しくなり、 会えた時にはもう亡くなっていました。 彼女の死後すぐ大阪のLiveがあり、それからShibuyaでのリハーサルとLive（素晴らしいLive videoになりました）。 Debut single「ヴェル・エール」——歌は歌えませんが、ドラムには魂を込めました。 「Pays de merveilles」Tour中、彼女のお墓に行き、今は笑顔で話せるようになりました。 Video上映も終わり、現在2nd Major singleのRecording中です。 9月下旬筆 〜新たな俺の一面〜 学校では歴史が一番嫌いでした。名前が全部同じで、過去のことなんてどうでもよかった。 去年たまたまNHK大河ドラマ「秀吉」を見て、ハマりました。全部録画して何度も見返しています。 戦国時代と自分の人生——上京、メンバーとの出会い、Indiesの頂点、Majorデビュー——重なります。 「毛利元就」も見て、歴史本をたくさん買い、川中島の古戦場にも行きました。今は武田信玄に興味。 ☆「秀吉」の1〜6話のビデオを持っている人がいたら貸してくれーい、ベイベー。

Kami's Soliloquy. ~Moment of Void~ About half a year ago a fan in her mid-teens passed away. She'd supported us since the revival, wrote many letters, came to many lives—I recognized her face. She fell ill around last October; at a signing some people said cruel things like “She's sick but still came.” I meant to visit, but after the major-label contract I became extremely busy; by the time I saw her, she was gone. Osaka live came right after; then Shibuya rehearsal and live (became a wonderful live video). Debut single “Bel Air”—I can't sing, but I put my soul into the drums. During the Pays de merveilles tour I visited her grave; now I can talk to her with a smile. Video screenings are over; currently recording our 2nd major single. Written late September. ~A New Side of Me~ History was my least favorite subject—names all sounded the same; the past didn't matter. Last year I happened to watch the NHK Taiga drama “Hideyoshi” and got hooked; I record and rewatch every episode. The Warring States era parallels my life—moving to Tokyo alone, meeting members, indie peak, major debut. Also watched “Mori Motonari,” bought history books, visited Kawanakajima battlefield. Currently into Takeda Shingen. ☆If anyone has videos of Hideyoshi episodes 1–6, lend them to me, baby.
